A significant majority of electricity plants in Venezuela are critical, producing less than half of their capacity. Some do not even produce electricity at all.

Did you know about the electricity crisis in Venezuela?

When you enter this Web page, you will see a map of Venezuela. Each circle on the map represents an electricity plant. When you click your mouse on a circle, a window opens displaying information about that particular electricity plant. If the colored border around the window is green, then the condition of the plant is normal. If the border is orange, then the plant is in an emergency situation. And if the border is red, then the situation is critical. Each window displays the CAPACITY (potential production) and OUTPUT (actual production) of the corresponding electricity plant.

If you go through all the electricity plants, you will notice that a significant majority are critical, producing less than half of their capacity. Some do not even produce electricity at all. Also, to prove that this crisis is getting significantly worse, compare 2009 output vs 2010 output and you will see that in virtually every plant the output was less this year.
