GOP needs to be ‘educated’ on climate change according to White House official

John Holdren who in a 1973 book called to de-develop the US heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Holdren continues to push the global warming ‘climate change’ myth saying that GOP climate skeptics need to be ‘educated’.

In a January 30th interview on Platts Energy Week, Holdren said of GOP global warming skeptics ‘we have to educate them’ ‘to try to convince them’. Steering clear of Al Gore’s ‘the science is settled’ mantra Holdren claimed the science is clear that human activity is ‘overwhelmingly likely’ to be the primary cause of ‘climate change’. Holdren is a big advocate of redistribution of wealth as evidenced in his writings. Like Obama he sees climate change (formerly known as global warming but there isn’t any now) as a vehicle for redistributing wealth.

Previous hysterical claims by Holdren include these from Discover the Networks.org:

In 1969 Holdren wrote that it was imperative “to convince society and its leaders that there is no alternative but the cessation of our irresponsible, all-demanding, and all-consuming population growth.” That same year, he and professor of population studies Paul Ehrlich jointly predicted: “If … population control measures are not initiated immediately and effectively, all the technology man can bring to bear will not fend off the misery to come.”

In 1971 Holdren and Ehrlich warned that “some form of ecocatastrophe, if not thermonuclear war, seems almost certain to overtake us before the end of the century.”

Viewing capitalism as an economic system that is inherently harmful to the natural environment, Holdren and Ehrlich (in their 1973 book Human Ecology: Problems and Solutionscalled for “a massive campaign … to de-develop the United States” and other Western nations in order to conserve energy and facilitate growth in underdeveloped countries. “De-development,” they said, “means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.” “By de-development,” they elaborated, “we mean lower per-capita energy consumption, fewer gadgets, and the abolition of planned obsolescence.” The authors added:

“The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge. They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential if a decent life is to be provided for every human being.” [emphasis added]

In November, 2010 we wrote about the UN official who admitted that climate change was not about climate but about redistribution of wealth:

“Climate policy has almost nothing to do anymore with environmental protection”, says the German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer. “The next world climate summit in Cancun is actually an economy summit during which the distribution of the world’s resources will be negotiated.”

Just recently one of the founders of Greenpeace revealed that the environmental movement had been taken over by leftists and that global warming is a ‘natural phenomenon’ and that there’s no proof of man-made global warming, and suggested that “alarmism” is driving politicians to create bad environmental policies. He also said he’s not the only environmentalist that believes like he does.

Much like Al Gore whose film has been discredited as propaganda by British courts and shown to have as many as 35 false claims Holdren likes to imply that ‘the science is clear’ and anyone who is skeptical just needs to be ‘educated’. Unfortunately for them at least 40% of scientists doubt that global warming is man made. In November, 2009 the scandal known as climategate showed that the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report on which all of this climate hoax is based was filled with falsified data, unsubstantiated ‘studies’ and conspiracy to hide the facts.

But Holdren’s environmental radicalism is much worse. More from Discover the Networks.org on Holdren’s ‘science’ background that qualifies him to advise our President on the nations energy and environmental policies:

In 1977 Holdren and Ehrlich quantified their anti-capitalist philosophy in a mathematical equation, I=PAT, where a negative environmental impact (I) was the product of such undesirable factors as population growth (P), increasing affluence (A), and improving technology (T). In an effort to minimize environmental damage, they prescribed “organized evasive action: population control, limitation of material consumption, redistribution of wealth, transitions to technologies that are environmentally and socially less disruptive than today’s, and movement toward some kind of world government.” [emphasis added]

In 1986 Holdren predicted that “carbon dioxide-induced famines could kill as many as a billion people before the year 2020.”

In 2006 Holdren suggested that as a result of global warming, sea levels worldwide could rise by 13 feet by the end of the 21st century. A subsequent estimate by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change placed the figure at 13 inches.

In the October 2008 issue of Scientific American, Holdren wrote: “The ongoing disruption of the Earth’s climate by man-made greenhouse gases is already well beyond dangerous and is careening toward completely unmanageable.” “Carbon dioxide (CO2),” he added, “is the most important of civilization’s emissions and the most difficult to reduce. About 80 percent comes from burning coal, oil and natural gas; most of the rest comes from deforestation in the tropics.”

Today Holdren characterizes researchers who doubt whether human activity is responsible for global warming, or that global warming even poses a serious threat, as people who “infest” the public discourse with “dangerous” ideas that pose “a menace” to humanity.

Notice the recurring theme of redistribution of wealth. Its easy to see why Obama picked this radical leftist environmental wacko to advise him on the ‘science’ of redistributing the wealth of Americans.

And just how is all this environmental energy push working? For one thing consumers pay 38% extra for ‘renewable’ energy mandatesNASA is targeting kids with false claims of climate doom. The government continues climate lies with a NASA, NOAA report. Gas prices continue to rise as most people expect but they are clueless to the Obama administration’s part in it. Taxpayer funds going to ‘green’ projects are moving jobs to China. Obama is doing everything he can to push up energy rates and gasoline prices as he promised in his 2008 campaign. And Obama continues his push for global taxes on Americans. This all sounds exactly like the result of John Holdren’s advice.
