You Lie! – Obama Claimed Credit for the Oil and Gas Boom

Obama’s anti-energy policies have had a chilling on oil and gas production on federal lands. Obama’s anti-energy policies have had a chilling on oil and gas production on federal lands. Not surprising considering his energy secretary is infamous for having said “Somehow we have to figure out a way to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe” which were above $7 a gallon at the time.

The share of gas production on federally [Obama] administered lands has fallen to its lowest in 35 years:

The Obama administration seems to be doing everything it can to raise the price of energy. This is slowing the economy, killing jobs, hurting the poor and the middle class and raising the cost of virtually everything.

Before his election Obama promised his plan would make electricity rates ’skyrocket’. Since he took office the price of oil has skyrocketed 117% and gasoline has increased 67%. While talking big on energy independence Obama’s real energy agenda is pushed by his tyrannical EPA. It is economic suicide to use a disproved theory of global warming as an excuse to minimize energy production of our own US resources. The EPA is waging a war on oil.

As soon as he took office the Obama administration cancelled 77 oil and gas leases on public lands. Just a year later they cancelled another 61 leases in Montana citing the climate hoax.

In killing the Keystone XL pipeline Obama kept America importing from socialist dictator Hugo Chavez the same amount of oil that we could have bought from Canada.

Look at the average annual oil and gas leases under each administration:

The continuous decline shows how the US is committing economic suicide by limiting production of its own energy and continuing to import oil from ant-American countries like Libya and Iran.

The cost per kilowatt of energy production is: Natural gas: 3.5-4.5 cents, Coal: 4-5 cents, Hydro: 4 cents, Nuclear: 8 cents, Wind: 7-9 cents, Solar: 15-50 cents. The only explanation for pumping hundreds of millions into the bankrupt solar industry is to continue fueling the campaign contributions of Obama supporters who rake in millions from this green scam.

Warren Meyer writing at Forbes was shocked by Obama taking credit for oil and gas production:

“We learned last night, for example, that he is against bailouts and cronyism?  Really?  You mean after GM and AIG and Fannie and Freddie and Solyndra, he has seen the light?

But the portion that really floored me was Obama’s taking credit for the increase in US oil and gas production over the last several years.

The one person who deserves no credit for this boom is Barack Obama.  In fact, this Administration has bent over backwards to make oil and gas production and exploration as difficult as possible.

Since Obama took office, according to the IER, oil production has fallen precipitously on Federal onshore and offshore leases, while it has increased by an even larger amount on state and private lands largely outside of this Administration’s reach”

Radical environmentalist groups like The Sierra Club are enormously powerful in politics because of the cash cow they represent. The Sierra Club is a powerful Washington lobbyist spending $1,580,000 on lobbying in the last three years according to OpenSecrets.org. Environmental groups as an industry have spent $14,746,646 on lobbying in 2010, $22,458,950 in 2009 and $17,953,057 in 2008 for a total in the last three years of over $55 MILLION! Campaigns come first for this president.

So when you see those high prices at the pump and in your energy bill thank Obama. Higher energy prices also translate into higher prices for everything. Almost everything uses energy in production, shipping, distribution and sales. Those higher costs are passed on to you the consumer.

Take a bow Mister President.
