“Never let a good disaster go to waste” and if you need one, make it up. A good scare creates power and a giant slush fund of taxpayer money.

With the help of political cronies in high places, on both sides of the aisle, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has attempted, and failed, to push the PTC through in various bills: not once, not twice, but five times in a little over a year.

Knowing hope and hype energy can’t survive without mandates and subsidies, they are doubling down on grants and loans for campaign-contributing corporate cronies.

While millions of Americans light candles in the dark or hope their flashlight batteries hold out, we have to ask WHY the Obama administration has waged a war on the provision of electricity.

The Obama vision has been an unmitigated disaster. Countless failures, bankruptcies and layoffs are matched by a need for perpetual subsidies – taken from hard-working, productive people and businesses, and given by unaccountable bureaucrats to failed technologies and companies, run by crony-corporatists who return the favor by contributing substantial portions of our compulsory taxpayer largesse to the reelection campaigns of cooperative politicians.

“Since taking office, Obama has invested billions of taxpayer dollars in private businesses [mostly in renewable energy companies], including as part of his stimulus spending bill. Many of those investments have turned out to be unmitigated disasters — leaving in their wake bankruptcies, layoffs, criminal investigations and taxpayers on the hook for billions.”

Sure seems like a win, win, win situation – an energy stimulus program that didn’t require any taxpayer support and wasn’t even part of any intentional energy policy from Washington.

Energy is responsible for these states’ job recoveries “to a very large degree,” says Jim Diffley, senior director of U.S. regional services at IHS Global Insight. “In North Dakota and Alaska, the energy sector is predominately very much the single most important factor.”

“unbridled and unnecessary development” of wind power projects throughout Ontario, “which is altering rural communities, causing power bills to rise dramatically, and even causing some people to become ill from exposure to the environmental noise.”
