Remember this is a president who said “under my plan electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket.” Obama seems to be doing everything he can to increase energy costs. Higher energy costs means fewer jobs. More ….

They all share the same goal: enrich and empower activists, bureaucrats and liberal politicians – while controlling and impoverishing the rest of us – all in the name of protecting the environment.

Also on hold are various regulations … that would dramatically increase energy costs, .. —estimated to cost $79 billion to $110 billion and thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Missouri and Ohio.

Instead of following laws and policies set by our elected representatives, EPA is now controlled by environmental ideologues, determined to impose their utopian ideas, via a massive and arrogant power grab. President Obama set the tone, with his promises to “bankrupt” coal and utility companies and “radically transform” our economy and society, and serves as the rogue agency’s cheerleader-in-chief.

As coal use drops, job losses rise and electricity prices skyrocket, an electoral map of the 16 top coal-mining states does not bode well for an administration whose energy policy consists of algae and exploding electric cars. – IBD

Sen. Inhofe points out the widespread corruption at the EPA in doling out grant money to left wing groups that then sue the EPA and win funds. In one case grants went to a lobbying group and have even gone to Thailand and China.

The EPA even tacitly encourages such suits, going so far as to pay for and promote a “Citizen’s Guide” that, among other things, explains how to sue the agency under “citizen suit” provisions in environmental laws. The guide’s author — the Environmental Law Institute — has received $9.9 million in EPA grants over the past decade. – IBD

House Democrats, in passing the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, stripped the EPA of the power they now want to preserve. That legislation was written by Waxman and Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), another signatory of the April 4 letter.

FBN’s David Asman says the EPA is a prime of example of a giant bureaucracy that needs to go.

Farmers, ranchers, and foresters “are increasingly frustrated and bewildered by vague, overreaching, and unnecessarily burdensome EPA regulations,” a U.S. senator charged last week.
