From a land use, economic, environmental or raw materials perspective, wind is unsustainable

[F]or countries who have been driven by green zealots into the solar energy shade or the wind energy doldrums, rising power costs are destroying their industry, jobs and prosperity.

A 2009 study by Carnegie Mellon University comparing the effectiveness of vehicles powered by large plug-in batteries to those powered by small plug-in batteries and conventional hybrid engines found that the largest battery tested, which offered a range of 60 miles per charge, actually produced 10% more greenhouse gases than a battery with a range of only 7 miles when regular recharging was possible, as would be expected with urban driving.

Billions are expected to buy just 5,000 jobs, meaning that each position will likely end up costing the federal government upwards of $392,000 per job. Of those 5,000 jobs, the majority are expected to be temporary positions in fields like construction. We know that the motto of this administration is “never let a good crisis go to waste,” but it turns out that the real crisis is mathematical illiteracy — and Obama hopes it afflicts enough people to get away with this.

Many Democrats don’t want to vote in this election year on whether to cap the greenhouse-gas emissions linked to climate change, saying they prefer to work in the coming months on legislation directly responding to the spill. “The climate bill isn’t going to stop the oil leak,” said Senator Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat. “The first thing you have to do is stop the oil leak.”

Obama says he doesn’t know where we’re going or how to get there but it is urgent we get on the ‘green’ train to nowhere even if it collapses the economy and does nothing for the environment. This speech was mostly the first in a long series of propaganda pushes for the largest tax increase in US history.

Like Obamacare, a climate bill will largely be a vehicle for forced redistribution of wealth in the form of high taxes on everything that uses energy (what doesn’t?) and subsidies to favored liberal groups. Forced redistribution of wealth equals Marxism.

The folks behind degrowth are open about the need to shrink the human horizon through a—wait for it—“paradigm shift” that “involves degrowth in wealthy parts of the world.” That’s US folks.

These unelected bureaucrats, headed by EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, have no regard for or understanding of property rights, free markets, or our economy. It’s all about worshiping at the altar of “climate change” and offering penance for America’s high standard of living by attacking industry in the name of “justice”.

A consumer of ‘ethical’ products such as organic food might be more inclined to cheat and steal, the study found. Also ‘less willing to share with others’ and ‘six times more likely to steal than the conventionals.’
