Signs along the interstate warn US citizens away from parts of Arizona due to the dangers of ‘drug and human smuggling’.

McCain said President Obama needs to walk the Arizona-Mexico border and see for himself the destruction caused by an explosion in drug and human trafficking.

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state.

The people who run the drug and arms smuggling cartels in Mexico and elsewhere in Central and South America can read newspapers as well as anyone. They see a message being sent that Hispanic immigrants will continue to “get a pass” whenever possible. From the cartels’ standpoint, the issue of so-called racial profiling must be set front and center whenever possible in order to take attention away from narcotics trafficking.

Will you wait for this violence to reach your town? It is increasing exponentially. Phoenix Arizona is the number 2 kidnapping capitol of the world. Murder, home invasions, kidnapping and massive drug smuggling occur every day in the US from Mexican drug cartels. The police and Border Patrol face automatic weapons and grenades and a federal government that seems to side with the cartels.

Its all about politics. Its not about securing the border. Federal officials routinely assure the public that they are gaining control over the Arizona border. Despite these assurances, “Gaming the Border: a Report from Cochise County, Arizona,” shows why the border there remains porous, as illegal immigrants avoid the Border Patrol and walk around checkpoints on highways north of the border.

This is only a small sample of the devastation caused in Arizona and the other border states. The human toll is real. The economic toll is real. The violence is increasing. Drug and human trafficking and increasingly the smuggling of terrorists from Samalia and other terrorist supporting countries is a real danger not only to those in Arizona but to the entire US.
