Even if we do not look at pornography, its influence seeps into our everyday lives. It is time for Americans to put a stop to pornography’s harmful effects on ourselves, our families and our society.

Feminism, Pornography, and Choice
You may think you know what porn is. But there is a good chance you don’t. In particular, if you are a woman, or if you grew up in the age prior to the Internet, the word “pornography” might evoke images of a blushing Playboy centerfold, or perhaps some flimsy-plotted film with a delivery man, a desperate housewife, and just a bit more sex and nudity than an R-rating would allow. In reality, mainstream pornography today is far more brutal, more graphic, and more violent than most could imagine if they hadn’t seen it for themselves.
Taking a strong stand on pornography
Over 30 of Australians leading child experts have signed a letter to the Standing Committee of Attorneys-General/Censorship Ministers calling for a ban on the sale of magazines like Playboy and Penthouse, generally considered “soft porn,” from newsstands, convenience stores, and gas stations, where young people have easy access to them.
