Obama and the Government Employees Unions

But the real scourge has been on the expense side of the ledger: salaries and pension benefits given — and I do mean given — to government workers.

Public-sector unions have amassed great power to extract taxpayer dollars from politicians. Politicians reward government workers with our dollars, and they in turn are rewarded at election time by donations, free labor (phone banks, people who pass out flyers), and votes.

Why Obama Can’t Drop Health Care Reform

When you look at health care reform, each political party is looking through different glasses; their visions and the goals of reform are polar opposites. The Democrats want a Medicare-for-all type of reform, with the federal government controlling the entire U.S. health care system and using mechanisms for the redistribution of wealth; while the Republicans simply base their reform on free-market principles, tort reform, and interstate competition.

Does Gore Feel the Chill?

How out of touch is the radical environmental movement that, sadly, has a deep hold on the Obama Administration?

The Department of Commerce news release announcing the new “climate service” actually said the following, “More and more Americans are witnessing the impacts of climate change in their own backyards…”

There’s more. The release, paid for with your tax dollars, goes on to say that “People are searching for relevant and timely information about these changes to inform decision making about VIRTUALLY ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR LIVE).” (emphasis added)

Ponzi scheme on the Potomac

Last week, the U.S. Senate increased the nation’s debt ceiling by an additional $1.9 trillion. That vote was necessary to further the Ponzi scheme. It should serve as a wake-up call that this level of spending is unsustainable.

Money For Nothing- More Union Payoffs with YOUR Money

But Washington’s spending habits are based on politics, not results, and the White House’s proposed education spending hike has the rancid smell of a political payoff.

Almost every dollar — 95% — of the $5.4 million that the teachers’ unions gave in the 2008 election cycle went to Democrats. Unlike taxpayers who get a miserable return on their “investment” in public education, unionized teachers get results when they spend.

In Full Charge, Team Obama Grows Stupid

How could such smart people do so many stupid things? That question, or variations on it, is being asked in Washington and around the country about the Obama administration.

Is Global Warming a “Crock of S*%t?”

“Global warming is a crock of s*%t!”

When Bob Lutz, vice-chairman of General Motors, said this in February 2008, it immediately became the most widely distributed quote regarding global warming on the Internet. After all, this was one of the major power players in the automobile industry, and he was implying that anyone who believed that global warming was real, man-made, and altering the planet was something akin to a moron.
