It is why the nation continues to struggle with illegal immigration. It is why Obamacare has been foisted on a nation when the majority rejected it.

In 2010, AFSCME reported spending $13 million independently on the elections, the sixth-most of any outside group and second-most of any labor union that cycle. About 80 percent of the union’s independent expenditures went toward opposing Republican congressional candidates while the other 20 percent was spent supporting Democrats.

Some of Obama’s critics don’t accept the notion that he is an amateur. Instead, they see him as clever and manipulative, a left-wing ideologue who knows exactly what he is doing. Klein certainly doesn’t dismiss that idea.
