When I first saw this story I thought it was political satire. When I realized it wasn’t, I started writing this column as therapy to help me through the realization of yet another signal that our nation is finished as a great power.

US and Russia reach agreement on ‘spy exchange’
The US is deporting 10 people who spied for Moscow in exchange for four people convicted of espionage in Russia. A judge in New York ordered the immediate deportation of the 10 after they pleaded guilty to spying for a foreign country. More serious money laundering charges against them were dropped.
Obama lies again – this time about free trade – his union allies don’t want it
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refuses to permit any vote on the Colombian pact, which was submitted to Congress two years ago. She doesn’t fear it’ll fail; she fears it’ll pass. Unions control Pelosi and Obama and the Democrats. Unions don’t want free trade agreements. The top 20 recipients of union campaign contributions are Democrats. Its easy to connect the dots and see why we have no free trade agreements with Colombia even though it would help the struggling US economy.
