Republicans Blast ‘Livable Communities’ Bill As Washington-Based Central Planning for Cities and Towns

‘Sustainable development’, ‘smart growth’ and ‘livable communities’ is all based on UN Agenda 21 which is a way to usurp property rights and constitutional rights. Local officials, at the behest of state or federal government, revise zoning laws to fit into a “smart code” zoning template. A massive reshuffling of property rights ensues.

Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Adolf Hitler all believed in weeding out undesirables in the human race. Similar sentiments have appeared in the writings of Obama friend and terrorist Bill Ayers and Obama science czar John Holdren. The only difference appears to be who decides what ‘undesirables’ are. Cap and Trade bill to control where you live?

The purpose behind the Senators’ attempt to foster archaic living and travel arrangements (often called “smart growth”) is the belief that this would lead to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. President Roosevelt slowed recovery in 1938-40 until the war by creating uncertainty about his objectives. It was harmful then, and it’s harmful now.

The Bait-And-Switch On Cap-And-Trade

He followed the established but failed practice of proposing complex, indirect remedies that aim to hide costs from consumers (and thus, voters). At best, this political sleight-of-hand makes import reductions and emission controls far more costly to achieve than would otherwise be the case. Economic harm is the more likely outcome.

Obama’s Science Czar claims past radical writings ‘misunderstood’

Holdren has co-authored works in the past that called for a campaign to “de-develop the United States” and said people need to eventually face up to a “world of zero net physical growth.” He also co-authored a passage that said: “The fetus, given the opportunity to develop properly before birth, and given the essential early socializing experiences and sufficient nourishing food during the crucial early years after birth, will ultimately develop into a human being. Where any of these essential elements is lacking, the resultant individual will be deficient in some respect.”
