So many federal agencies were involved in allowing guns to go to Mexican drug cartels we wonder if it was a deliberate attempt to create a reason for increasing restrictive gun laws in the US. Having Holder investigate his own department is laughable. Look how well he did with the race based voter intimidation cases.

Obama Administration’s Justice Department authorized the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (the “ATF”) to rig gun background checks so gun runners could “walk” guns into Mexico after clearing an instant background check at various gun stores in the U.S.

Rep. Darryl Issa Chairman of the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform discussed the BATF gun running scandal on the Roger Hedgecock radio show. He also mentions how federal agencies are inviting lawsuits which they then capitulate on, settle for large damages and then use as case law to make policy that otherwise would not have passed congress.

The agents said funding shortages and hiring freezes not only threatened efforts to reduce rapidly increasing violent drug crime, but also hampered efforts to combat terrorism worldwide. Many, in interviews this week with The Washington Times, noted that the illicit profit from global drug trafficking is a key source of revenue for terrorist organizations, adding that half of the State Department’s list of foreign terrorist organizations have drug ties.
