Last Friday’s budget deal blocks funding for the Obama administration’s National Climate Service (NCS).

The wicked witch of the West admonishes us to have the shared “values” of her socialist Democrats who are bankrupting the country so that “elections won’t matter as much as they do.” This is another glimpse of the tyrannical leftists and how they really think the people are stupid and need to be ruled.

The Federal Reserve has basically tripled the adjusted monetary base. We have now been conditioned to accept that trillion dollar deficits are “normal”. The U.S. dollar is being systematically destroyed right in front of our eyes and most Americans don’t even seem alarmed about it.

With the national debt fast approaching 15 trillion dollars the President and Congress had to go to the mat with a government shutdown hanging over their head to finally agree to cut a measly $38 billion in discretionary spending from the budget.

“That was the key message – stop the spending, stop the taxing, stop the regulating,” he continued. “Change direction in the course of fiscal policy – change direction from government domination direction and allocation of resources to private-sector freedom.”

The budget deficit, national debt, and the outstanding money owed by Social Security and Medicare — over $100 trillion — have exploded, leaving a nation more uncertain about its future than at any time since the Great Depression. Knowing this, how does a congressional leader say — with a straight face — the nation cannot live without a federally funded, yearly symposium on “cowboy poetry?”

Some rights require government action and thus funding. Defense is one of them. Our judiciary system is another. But many if not most rights require no government funding. Free speech, for example, is free. So it does not follow that, because we have a right, society must pay for its members to exercise it. By and large, abortions are an elective procedure.

Obama wanted a $40 billion increase for these “discretionary” programs. Cutting $38 billion may not be a big number, but it is a step in the right direction.
