The Obama vision has been an unmitigated disaster. Countless failures, bankruptcies and layoffs are matched by a need for perpetual subsidies – taken from hard-working, productive people and businesses, and given by unaccountable bureaucrats to failed technologies and companies, run by crony-corporatists who return the favor by contributing substantial portions of our compulsory taxpayer largesse to the reelection campaigns of cooperative politicians.

In the case of Bloom Energy, some truly big hitters are involved in what can only be described as highly suspect permit applications, crony capitalism, political pressure and secretive backroom deals that will benefit the few at the expense of countless taxpayers and ratepayers. What these arrangements could do to energy prices in Delaware and other states served by the PJM electricity grid is scary to ponder – and Bloom is trying to cut similar deals in North Carolina and elsewhere.

Greens have understandably concluded they can get what they want, restrictions on all energy use, in the courts of justice if not in the court of public opinion.

The part [he] left out was that this money was first taken from taxpayers, ratepayers and successful businesses. It was then given to Big Wind developers, who gave a tad bit of it back to the [Obama], who then recycled some of those revenues back to businesses and people with the right political connections.

It turns out that 21 firms represent the 26 projects (the 7%) that were funded by the DOE’s 1705 Loan Guarantee Program, of which 23 were junk rated.

Obama has increased loans from the unregulated Federal Financing Bank to politically connected green companies by 100% so far.

Subsidies are much worse that just wasteful, they’re diabolical. They lull us into thinking we have almost solved the problem and they hinder us from seeking the real solutions.

Obama’s green rules that make cars less affordable – and less safe – hurt the poor. The standards mean poor families won’t be able to afford new vehicles – and in many cases even decent used vehicles. Far worse, the new mileage requirements will likely cause thousands of additional and unnecessary injuries and deaths.

Harry Reid’s $1.3 billion in federal funds funneled into geothermal, solar and wind projects since 2009 in Nevada has cost of over $4.6 million per job.

There ought to be a chart concerning how global warming lies rise and fall with each climate event like a drought or each new revelation of scientific fact that disputes and debunks the hoax.
