Every “green job” created with government money in Spain over the last eight years came at the cost of 2.2 regular jobs, and only one in 10 of the newly created green jobs became a permanent job. Now the same union socialist policies being pushed here by Obama are collapsing the economy in Spain.

Obama has no problem with a serious reduction in the U.S. standard of living as long as all Americans share the misery. That is the inevitable result of his policies. The original cap-and-trade legislation favored by President Obama would have reduced U.S. GDP by $9 trillion.

Many Democrats don’t want to vote in this election year on whether to cap the greenhouse-gas emissions linked to climate change, saying they prefer to work in the coming months on legislation directly responding to the spill. “The climate bill isn’t going to stop the oil leak,” said Senator Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat. “The first thing you have to do is stop the oil leak.”

Obama says he doesn’t know where we’re going or how to get there but it is urgent we get on the ‘green’ train to nowhere even if it collapses the economy and does nothing for the environment. This speech was mostly the first in a long series of propaganda pushes for the largest tax increase in US history.

The purpose of the bill is to drive energy prices high enough to reduce consumption. In effect, consumers would be forced to pay more for less energy. Higher energy costs would spread throughout the economy as producers everywhere try to cover their higher production costs by raising their product prices, further impacting consumers.

“The common thread through the studies and discussions is that green jobs are jobs related to preserving or restoring the environment,” the notice said. Duh! Beyond that, a precise definition has eluded Labor Department officials. The Labor Department is shoving money out the door for “green jobs,” yet at the same time is admitting it doesn’t know what a “green job” is.

Major players in Washington cheered the latest version of an energy bill, which tries to buy support with “something for almost everyone.” But beleaguered consumers will get stuck with skyrocketing bills after others feast on new government benefits.

Why does the Obama administration want to stifle a clean burning homeland source of energy that will increase national security and create jobs without government subsidies?
