Instead of pushing for comprehensive reform, they will focus on smaller proposals that could have more bipartisan support.

As a Southern Arizona Mexican-American, I’m sick of politicians calling for boycotts and intruders demanding that my tax dollars pay for their freebies. It’s all about votes and money — not human compassion, as they would have you believe!

Neither President Obama nor the president of Mexico has a legitimate objection to Arizona’s attempt to control illegal immigration. Last year, as Abby Wisse Schachter put it, “the Border Patrol apprehended 241,453 people and confiscated a record 1.3 million pounds of marijuana — in the Tucson, Ariz., sector alone. Nearly a fifth of all those apprehended already had a U.S. criminal record.”

Comprehensive immigration reform is leftist code for amnesty. Secure the borders first!

The constant refrain of ‘immigration reform’ is leftist code for amnesty for illegals. Just finish the fence!

Only 34.3 miles double-layer fencing has been completed along the Southern border. Most of that fencing, 13.5 miles, is in Texas, while 11.8 miles are in California and 9.1 miles of double-layer fencing are up in Arizona. 700 miles was approved by congress in 2006.

“It’s time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, ‘We’re all Arizonans now,'” Palin said. “And in clear unison we say, ‘Mr. President: Do your job. Secure our border.'”

‘Comprehensive immigration reform’ is a leftist code word for amnesty for illegals. Notice that Pelosi and the Democrats mention border security but have done nothing about completing the already approved border fence or enforcing current immigration laws.
