I worry because of the increasing power that national governments wield in the mature economies of the world. Applied power eventually leads to serfdom. Increasing taxation is a characteristic of a declining great power.

The White house thinks Americans are getting stupider and stupider with each passing year of the Obama disaster. Obama has never cared about any jobs except union jobs which generate campaign funds for him and fellow Democrats. His Utopian “green ” jobs has produced such fiascoes as $14 million per permanent wind job and $50 MILLION for ten solar jobs. Can we stand four more years of this insanity?

The real Barack Obama is a steely-eyed autocrat, dedicated to expanding his power at the expense of our liberty, still a bit of a Marxist, alternately hostile to or agnostic about capitalism, and intent on transforming America into a government-controlled society composed of obedient automatons. – IBD

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the official unemployment rate in the United States was 9.8 percent in March 2010 and it declined to 8.2 percent in March 2012. So how is this possible if the percentage of working age Americans that have jobs hasn’t moved? Well, what they do is they claim that there are millions upon millions of Americans that have “left the labor force”. In other words, they claim that there are millions upon millions of unemployed Americans that don’t want jobs anymore.

[T]he unemployment rate fell by 0.1%, to 8.2%. But we see that the number of people who are actually employed dropped by 31,000, so how can the unemployment rate fall? Because the number of people looking for a job dropped by 164,000. If you aren’t looking for a job, you are not considered unemployed. Thus the participation rate, or the number of adults either working or looking for work, dropped by 0.1% to 63.8%.

[W]ith spiraling 8% real inflation, historically high gas prices, cataclysmic real estate values, and federal debt under Obama more out of control than Charlie Sheen on a Las Vegas weekend, most folks are dubious about the ‘recovery’ that the Obamedia are trying to convince us we’re experiencing. – American Thinker

“President Obama’s rhetoric is matched with a policy record that is aggressively anti-energy and continues to stifle economic growth in Oklahoma and throughout the nation.” Gov. Fallin said Obama should “reexamine his polices, not deliver more speeches taking credit for the accomplishments of others.”

An unbearable debt problem was addressed by making it bigger and more threatening. Government spending was out of control and unsustainable. That problem was “solved” by increasing spending massively. Problems that were intractable were transformed into impossible. Nothing has been solved on the economic front. Everything has been made worse!

If you simply listen to what these politicians say about their respective opinions and policies, you will understand that they’re not interested in letting people be free. It’s government they want to set free, to trample on our liberties (economic and personal) even more than they already have.

America is awash in oil. A nationwide industry boom could reduce unemployment, boost the economy, lower gas prices and free us from terrorist sponsored oil. The boom in North Dakota’s Williams county has dropped their unemployment rate to a record .o8%.
