President Barack Obama is the “ideal partner” for the global Islamist movement, which has more in common with the radical left than might be imagined, former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy tells Newsmax.

McCarthy, who prosecuted blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and other jihadists for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, also warns that America must guard against the rise of shariah — Muslim law — in parts of the country.

McCarthy, whose new book,“The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotaged America,” is being released Tuesday, is co-chairman of the Center for Law and Counterterrorism at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C., and a contributing editor at National Review.
