Dems reluctant to allow opposing views in START hearing

After 16 hearings and 30 different witnesses between the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (SFR), the SASC finally heeded the request of U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the committee, allowing just two witnesses who oppose the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) treaty to testify. Only the US will have to reduce arms and be prohibited from expanding its anti-missile defense systems under the one sided treaty.
