In typical Obama fashion, the war in Afghanistan is being used as a political tool. Is this why McChrystal was upset with the administration? Never mind the advice of military commanders, the effect on troop causalities or the benefits to the enemy just make the decision based on politics.

At Tuesday’s confirmation hearing of General David Petraeus to head ground efforts in the War in Afghanistan Petraeus stated that no one in the military had ever recommended an Afghanistan withdrawal date of July 2011.
