State Department Mulls Terror Designation for Gaza ‘Aid’ Ship Funder -don’t hold your breath

The Turkish Muslim charity, The Foundation for Human Rights and Humanitarian Relief  (IHH), that funded and operated a Gaza-bound “aid” ship is part of a larger  coalition of groups and individuals intending to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza. The State Department is ‘looking at’ whether IHH should be designated a foreign terrorist organization according to a story at FOXNews.com. Don’t hold your breath.

According to Discover the Networks ” IHH overtly supports Hamas, is sympathetic to al Qaeda, and maintained contact with al Qaeda cells and the Sunni insurgency during the Iraq War.”

Also from Discover the Networks information on IHH:

“Caroline Glick, the deputy managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, writes:

“As the U.S. government, the Turkish government in the 1990s, the Investigative Project on Terrorism and countless other sources have proven, IHH is a terrorist organization with direct links to al-Qaida and Hamas. Its members have been involved in terrorist warfare from Chechnya and Bosnia to Iraq and Israel.”

There is much more evidence cited on the Discover the Networks information page, more than enough to establish that IHH should be on the foreign terrorist organization list. The real question is why hasn’t it already been placed on the list?

It seems that this administration is reluctant to even use the words ‘terrorist organization’ and is more concerned about hurting the feelings of some Muslims or Muslim countries than pursuing terrorist organizations.

Besides, if the IHH is put on the terrorist organization list a close look would have to be taken at the Free Gaza Movement (FGM) which includes close associates of Obama the former Weather Underground founders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

According to the Free Gaza Movement page at Discover the Networks:

“FGM also counts among its affiliated activists the former Weather Underground founders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of Code Pink: Women for Peace. The organization’s board of directors includes such prominent leftists as Noam ChomskyNaomi Klein, and Adam Shapiro of the Internatonal Solidarity Movement.

As of June 2010, the Malaysian-based Perdana Global Peace Organization was the single biggest donor ($366,000) to FGM. A key member of that organization is Feisal Abdul Rauf.”

So don’t hold your breath on that statement that the State Department is ‘looking at’ adding IHH to the terrorist list. It is just a political carrot to fend off criticism of the Obama White House’s response to the terrorist blockade breakers and Obama’s mistreatment of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
