A couple of weeks ago, Governor Chris Christie vetoed a $7.5 million funding bill to Planned Parenthood stating that financial difficulties was the primary reason. Although, Planned Parenthood and liberals blame Governor Christie’s pro-life stance.

We all know of Planned Parenthood’s shady abortion business. Besides, why should tax payers fund abortions?

Blaming New Jersey’s “unprecedented financial difficulties,” the governor said the family planning and women’s health clinic grants needed to be scrapped. But uninsured people have other avenues to get these medical services, according to Christie’s veto message.

Although the governor said he opposed the bill purely on budgetary grounds, his decision is likely to stoke an ongoing ideological debate on whether the state ought to financially support clinics run by Planned Parenthood, which provides abortions and birth control.

Democrats have schemed to override Governor Christie’s veto, especially since they need at least four republicans to vote alongside them. They were promised six republicans would do so. The democrats claim that they can get funding for Planned Parenthood from the state employee prescription drug account. However the democrats left out a tiny detail: the account was over-budgeted.

And with that detail now seen, news just came down the pike that those six republicans suddenly changed their mind and will side with logic and Governor Christie. In other words, the override and funding to Planned Parenthood is doomed.

Democrats need the support of at least four Republicans to reach the 27 total votes required for an override in the Senate… The lack of Republican support likely ends any chance that the funding will be restored, the Inquirer reports.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the six Republicans said that women’s health is a “vital priority” but that the state treasurer convinced them that taking money from the prescription fund would jeopardize the account and “risk access to needed medicines for women and children.”

Democrat hack, Sen. Loretta Weinberg says this proves republicans don’t care about abortions!

“Why are the leaders of the Republican Party… before we have even had a chance to discuss the funding of this bill… already saying they are not going to have one vote for a veto override?” asked Weinberg of Teaneck. “It is hard for me to believe so many of those good people of the Republican caucus are going to march in lockstep and vote to not override the veto on this important issue.”

So, through her logic, we must take money away from prescription drugs funding for needy women and children, to fund abortions? Does that sound logical to anyone?

So mark this as a win for pro-life, the taxpayers, and Governor Christie.
