Obama promises more propaganda for unpopular agenda

November 5, 2010 10:49

Obama tells 60 Minutes his failure was in ‘failing to sell the importance of several legislative milestones to the American people.’ He also said leadership is ‘a matter of persuading people’. Who is he listening to Joseph Goebbels?

It was the infamous Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels who said:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

That seems to be what we are seeing with the constant propaganda from the Obama administration regarding Obamacare and his radical redistribution agenda.

Obama has already given 54 speeches on Obamacare. Mark Hemingway at The Washington Examiner writes:

“Oh where, oh where to begin. First, we have the arrogant assumption that the administration’s crime here is getting the policy right. The fact that majority of the country that hates, say, health care reform with the fire of a thousand suns is presumably because they don’t know what’s good for them. Then the idea that Obama neglected  “marketing and P.R. and public opinion.” The president gave 54(!) speeches on health care reform, including a special joint session of Congress and prime time infomercial. And yet, he’s still of the opinion he just hasn’t explained it properly or something? We’re gonna like this turkey any day now! (Also, the fact he’s explaining his policy approach in his eleventy billionth magazine profile should tell you something — as president, Obama’s even posed for the cover of The American Dog.)

Remember when HHS Sec. Sebelius said its Time for ‘Reeducation’ on Obama Health Care Law? Or when she threatened health insurance companies for blaming rate increases on Obamacare?

Kaiser Health News reported:

“Sebelius said in a letter to the insurance lobby. ‘Simply stated, we will not stand idly by as insurers blame their premium hikes and increased profits on the requirement that they provide consumers with basic protections,’ Sebelius said. She warned that bad actors may be excluded from new health insurance markets that will open in 2014 under the law.””

Or how about having the First Lady enlist nurses to “Talk to your patients about how these reforms can help them.” How about getting old Andy Griffith to do TV commercials extolling the virtues of what Senator Mitch McConnell called the most disastrous piece of legislation in his history in the senate?

In an insightful commentary on Obama’s post election posturing Brit Hume breaks down how Obama implies he did the right things but the public just doesn’t get it.

Sounds a lot like the Goebbels big lie plan to me.
