Obama’s speech was much easier to understand if you realize that the only jobs important to Obama are union jobs which funnel dues to Democrat campaigns. So ‘investing’ in infrastructure, high speed rail etc. is an investment in campaign funds and ‘win the future’ is simply a reference to the 2012 election.

We’re in deep trouble. You know why. Our debt has passed $14 trillion, and yet our current spending plans will make that worse. The U.S. debt will reach Greek levels in just 10 years.

In reality, it’s not the purpose of government to do anything — except to ensure that people are left alone. Anyone who values freedom, independence and life on earth wants only one thing: Protection … including from government itself.

Obama’s spending binge has transformed a problem — one that has existed for years, and was caused by both parties — into an imminent crisis.

Obama’s con job did not work with this group. Most disagree with Obama’s assertion that the recession is over and few believe he really will cut spending.

Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report notes that they received a record $363 million from government grants and other taxpayer funds in 2008-2009. They set another record that year by performing over 324,000 abortions, giving Planned Parenthood the largest share of the abortion industry.

Adults in that older, freer America understood that one of the prices of liberty is that sometimes painful or unpleasant things happen. When they did happen, a low-key common-sense approach to handling the problem was usually best.

While Washington spends huge sums on things that are education-related, the riches produce almost nothing of educational value.
