Clueless congress – Obama leaves lawmakers in the dark on Libya

April 1, 2011 06:42

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen, faced a grilling in front of Congress over the Libyan campaign. Gates said Washington shouldn’t assist the Libyan rebels, and should instead leave nation-building to other countries.

In June of 2010 Obama’s own Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the head of all military operations, Admiral Mullen said “the biggest threat to our national security is our debt.” Yet Obama continues to increase the debt by over $4 billion dollars per day and claims we have an “interest” in war on Libya.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the Council on Foreign Relations that our national debt is a national security risk echoing previous statements by Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mullen, head of U.S. intelligence – Dennis Blair, and all of America’s intelligence agencies. Who is Obama listening to?

Our unsustainable and rapidly rising debt is a much greater threat than Libya yet Obama postures for the 2012 election with a pretend war while destroying the US with deficit spending.
