Zombie snails, parasites, and public sector unions… Oh my!

In order to fully appreciate this post, view the video below (hat tip to a subscriber, Nigel) before reading past the sentence in red. As you watch and listen, keep in mind two groups of people: public sector unions (specifically teachers’ unions) and American taxpayers who reject the tenets of big-government liberalism. (CAUTION: If you view the video on YouTube and read the comments, please be forewarned of profanity and vulgarity.)

Hopefully you have enjoyed a wee chuckle. Now let’s replace words here and there in the the video’s script to bring home a poignant analogy to current-day America.

Within this society of ours, a freedom-loving people “have been invaded by” public sector unions. “These parasites… push into” the people’s bank accounts, “transforming” the assets into ”targets” for union excesses.

Each day, the people leave the “protection” of their homes and venture into a world fraught with the “danger” of economic abuses that accompany decades of rampant unionism. The people are “exposed and vulnerable.” The people’s bank accounts begin to mutate, indeed to take on the appearance of feeding troughs. In fact, from on high—which is where, after all, union bosses and their liberal enablers reside—the troughs eventually appear to contain money which union bosses and members have a right to make their own. So the public sector unions swoop down to the level of the people and feast at the troughs, community troughs, after all.

The people “will likely survive this attack, but more parasites are growing inside” the body politic. As the unions ingest the people’s money, “thousands of parasite eggs” are spread throughout society to “infect” more of the body.
