Justice Ginsburg to Egyptians: Forget the US Constitution

February 6, 2012 12:15

Like Obama Ginsburg does not like the US Constitution. It is too limiting and does not allow for a large centralized all powerful government that can implement the leftist social engineering agenda. There is a reason our Constitution has survived for over 200 years.

Following are excerpts from an interview with US Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, which aired on Al-Hayat TV on January 30, 2012 from MEMRI TV.

“You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary… It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the US constitution – Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world?”

Actually the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms looks like it mirrors much of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The constitution of South Africa however is more like a leftist dream of new “rights.” Those “rights” include very subjective phrases like the right to a “basic education” and “to further education, which the state, through reasonable measures, must make progressively available and accessible. “; and

“Everyone has the right

  1. to an environment that is not harmful to their health or well-being; and
  2. to have the environment protected, for the benefit of present and future generations, through reasonable legislative and other measures that
    1. prevent pollution and ecological degradation;
    2. promote conservation; and
    3. secure ecologically sustainable development and use of natural resources while promoting justifiable economic and social development.”

This is a socialist leftist’s dream. Almost anything can be construed as “harmful to their health or well-being.” Just look at what the Obama administration is doing with Obamacare and the global warming hoax. Creating vast new bureaucracies, destroying whole industries, forcing higher energy costs on everyone.

The South African constitution includes a “right” to housing, “reproductive services” (which is leftist code for abortion). It includes “sexual orientation” as a protected class.

There is a clause that allows the government to decide what speech is allowed:

    1. The right in subsection (1) does not extend to
      1. propaganda for war;
      2. incitement of imminent violence; or
      3. advocacy of hatred that is based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion, and that constitutes incitement to cause harm.

Their constitution is filled with subjective feel good terms that can be easily used against the people to control any disagreement with the elitists in control. I’m sure Obama and Ginsburg would love to have it as their own.

Look for Ginsburg to resign if Obama loses so that he can appoint another anti-constitutionlist to the Supreme court.
