Thousands clash with police in Cairo -video

The Egyptian capital Cairo was the scene of violent chaos on Friday, when tens of thousands of anti-government protesters stoned and confronted police, who fired back with rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons. It was a major escalation in what was already the biggest challenge to authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak’s 30 year-rule. They are demanding Mubarak’s ouster and venting their rage at years of government neglect of rampant poverty, unemployment and rising food prices.

Chinese pianist insults US at Obama’s state dinner

Classical pianist Lang Lang played the theme song to an anti-American movie at the state dinner. The movie was about Chinese soldiers fighting Americans in the Korean war and refers to the US as the Jackal. Afterward Lang Lang posted a blog which described how proud: “Playing the song praising China to heads of state from around the world seems to tell them that our China is formidable. That our Chinese people are united. I am deeply proud.”

Lt. Colonel James Zumwalt, USMC (ret) says the passenger list for the global ship envisioned by Muslims is much shorter—i.e., only including those embracing Islam through birth or conversion.
