Obama subsidizing the rich to prop up Chevy Volt sales

Already wasting billions in paying off the auto unions by bailing out Chrysler and GM, Obama pushes his green dreams which have become a nightmare reality in the Chevy Volt. Always crying that the rich need to “pay their fair share” Obama then subsidizes the rich when they purchase already heavily subsidized electric cars. Its OK though he’s using your money to subsidize them.

Time to get government out of GM

Demand is tanking in Europe. Concerns remain about whether GM will continue to be able to fund its $128 billion pension plan. And sales of the “game-changing” Chevy Volt have been lagging since the vehicle’s commercial introduction some 13 months ago—well before its engines demonstrated an annoying propensity to spontaneously combust.

Did Obama Auto Czar Do It “All for the Unions”?

A better question is did Obama do it all for the union campaign help? Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN) questions Mr. Ron Bloom, former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury, on whether Mr. Bloom had said at a farewell dinner of the Auto Task Force in late July 2009, “I did this all for the unions.” Mr. Bloom denied the quote, but two independent sources have documented Mr. Bloom saying those words. As such, it appears that either a respected reporter or Mr. Bloom’s former boss in the Obama Administration have both given inaccurate accounts of Mr. Bloom’s comments to the public, or his testimony before Congress was not completely truthful.

Unions And Ford

[U]nions are killing all of the “blue” states isn’t a completely obvious and talked-about fact; all incremental investment that could possibly be done over the last few decades was either overseas or in non-union states. All of that investment COULD have benefited Michigan or Illinois or Wisconsin or Pennsylvania but instead it went to the US south, or overseas.

President Obama’s phony accounting on the auto industry bailout – lies, lies and damn lies

“What we found is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech. Virtually every claim by the president regarding the auto industry needs an asterisk, just like the fine print in that too-good-to-be-true car loan.” -Washington Post

Obama’s union payback to cost taxpayers $14 billion

Obama illegally gave ownership shares to the auto workers union who spent millions to elect Democrats leaving US taxpayers holding the empty bag.

Grasping the Full Costs of the Auto Bailout – its not just dollars

What about the weakening of the rule of law? Doesn’t the diversion of TARP funds by the Bush administration, in circumvention of congress’s wishes and in contravention of the language of the law, represent a cost? How about the property right of preferred bondholders who were forced to take pennies on their investment dollars under the Obama bankruptcy plan? Any costs there? What about U.S. moral authority to dissuade other governments from meddling in their markets or indulging industrial policy?
