[I]n some cases, the crime, or lapse in judgment, is definitely worse than the cover-up. That appears to be the case in the simmering scandal engulfing the Obama administration that the mainstream media have tried their best to ignore for many months—the above mentioned Operation Fast and Furious.

[T]he media, when not getting their facts and terminology completely wrong, continue covering for President Obama and the Democrats who are trying to preserve business as usual while pretending to be fiscally responsible.

The left is always lurking out there, wanting to reinstate a Fairness Doctrine in some form or another, whether legislatively or through less-than-transparent FCC regulations. And it is always about “fairness.” It is more important that the press remain free than being forced to be fair, according to the standards of politicians or bureaucrats.

Cashill makes a convincing case that Obama did not write the two books that helped launch his candidacy, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope. He argues that Dreams was actually written by William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist who was a founder of the communist Weather Underground.

The Left was clearly hoping that the controversy would have the effect of silencing conservative voices in the media, and shaming the Republicans into backing off of their agenda that they were recently voted in to pursue, including plans to vote to repeal ObamaCare.

I don’t see how you can win in the competition of ideas if you’re not willing to, on the one hand, describe honestly what the ideas of the enemy are and then simultaneously talk about the virtues of free political systems and free economic systems that we benefit from.”
