After Rebecca’s death, the 14-year-old posted on Facebook: “Yes, I bullied Rebecca, but I don’t give a (expletive).”

A majority of us keep expecting our leaders and officials to initiate force against our fellow citizens on a daily basis, robbing from another to give to ourselves. And then we marvel at the fact that some choose to take the violence to the streets.

With the rejection of a universal moral authority, man is his own judge left to determine his own personal definitions of “right” and “wrong,” and society pays the price as culture becomes increasingly coarsened.

Gov. Huckabee discusses the lack of the spiritual dimension in our schools and how praying and speaking God’s name is always OK AFTER a tragedy but not before. Pushing God out of our culture leaves a vacuum that quickly fills with a culture of violence and death. If there is no God, there is no evil, no right or wrong. We are teaching our children moral relativism which is really that there are no morals.

If gun control was really the solution to our problems, then cities that have implemented strict gun control laws should be some of the safest in the entire country. But sadly, just the opposite is true.

For a long time our debt-fueled prosperity has masked much of the social decay that has been festering underneath the surface, but now it is becoming increasingly apparent that the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is beginning to disappear.

It is almost as if we have been cursed with stupidity. Sadly, this applies from the very top of our society all the way down to the very bottom. A lot of us find ourselves asking the following question much more frequently these days: “How could they be so stupid?”

Today, way too many Americans deeply love themselves, deeply love money and are deeply addicted to entertainment. Each new generation seems to be even more prideful, even more arrogant and even more violent.

What we are now witnessing is the slow motion unraveling of America. Our economy is dying, the American people have lost faith in the government and in almost all of our other major institutions, and our society is collapsing.
