Stupid TSA prank should remind everyone: good thing they’re not unionized

January 22, 2010 06:30

You may have read about the Philadelphia TSA worker who scared the hell out of an unuspecting 22-year-old passenger by planting a bag of white powder in her carry-on bag.

Luckily, he’s already been fired.

But if TSA was unionized, as President Obama has hinted he wants, then this worker would still be drawing a paycheck, probably awaiting litigation over whether TSA can even punish him.

After all, the union for Customs and Border Patrol employees has successfully defended people who sleep on the job, fail the firearms test, and get into off-duty fights. What makes you think they can’t protect employees’ right to have a little fun on the job at the airport, too? By: David Freddoso Washington Examiner
