Obama donor made ambassador ruins embassy
After raising over $500,000 for Obama’s 2008 Cynthia Stroum was appointed ambassador to Luxembourg and made the embassy ‘dysfunctional’ according to an Inspector General Report.

The report states that “The Ambassador’s confrontational management style, chronic gaps in senior and other staffing caused by curtailments, and the absence of a sense of direction have brought major elements of Embassy Luxembourg to a state of dysfunction. Most employees describe the Ambassador as aggressive, bullying, hostile, and intimidating, which has resulted in an extremely difficult, unhappy, and uncertain work environment.”
Stroum told her staff thet her appointment letter from the president gave her the right read any email messages that originated at Embassy Luxembourg. She also rushed an end of fiscal year $3,400 purchase of wine and liquor which was against policy.
The report describes Stroum as an authoritarian egotist with little focus on the real functions of the embassy and disregard for people and policies.
Stroum was one of the big ‘bundlers’ of contributions for Obama’s campaign according to OpenSecrets.org raising $500,000.
Hillary Clinton was aware of the problems but apparently everyone wanted to keep Ms. Stroum happy for another round of fund raising for 2012.
