According to TIME’s NewsFeed he believes that legalization would have profound ramifications:

“Marriage is one of those things that is the backbone of society. So if you redefine it, it changes the way we educate our children, it changes the perception of what is good, what is right, what is just.”

Tyree also stands against same-sex adoption. He says:

“…you can‘t teach something that you don’t have. So two men will never be able to show a woman how to be a woman. That’s just, for lack of better terms, common sense.”
