Obama has implied that the FTA’s are held up by the GOP but its the unions demanding another half billion in funding for Trade Adjustment Assistance which pays unions for claims that jobs were lost to overseas companies. Solyndra employees are filing for over $14 million in assistance even though the failure of Solyndra has nothing to do with foreign competition. Senator McConnell says that American jobs are more important than Obama appeasing his union allies.

“We can create a new world from the ashes of the old.” … “We have to create a crisis for the other side.” While campaigning in 2008 Obama said the SEIU agenda is his agenda and he said he consulted SEIU on policy decisions. Is that why the nation is in a crisis?

My general rule is that any proposal that ends any portion of the federal government is a smart and sound proposal. By the same token, any proposal that maintains or increases any portion of the federal government is harmful.
