In a shot across the bow to the insurance industry Tuesday, President Obama warned companies facing higher costs in part because of his health care law not to hike their prices, saying “we’ll be watching closely.”

In a perfect world, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah) would like to “fully repeal” Obamacare. “That’s what I voted for earlier this year,” he says, alluding to the Senate GOP’s repeal amendment from March, which failed by a vote of 58 to 39. “But, for now, full repeal is very tough. I would like to see that, but Republicans only have 41 votes.”

Obamacare is already damaging the individual insurance market.

“In a haste to ram through their healthcare agenda, Congress and the President overstepped their Constitutional authority. Never before has Congress required Americans to purchase a private good or service or else suffer a financial penalty. Democrats have trampled on the checks and balances to unlimited federal power that our founders knew was central to personal freedom.”

Obama likes to keep things vague so they can make up the rules as they go along. With the radicals in this administration this executive order can be construed to ban certain foods like salt, fat even meat. Like so many other transformative bills Obama is pushing, this means a tremendous loss of personal freedom and shows a blatant disregard for the constituiton.

The Department of Health and Human Services ruled that for union-negotiated health plans, companies can change insurance providers but keep their essential plan details intact, or grandfathered. For non-union-negotiated plans, companies can’t change providers – they must stay with their same insurance provider.

Senator McConnell points out that the often repeated promise by Obama was a lie. The more we find out about Obamacare, the worse we realize it really is. Like Pelosi said, we had to pass it to find out what is in it.

Obama’s nose grows longer every time he talks about Obamacare, especially when speaking to seniors. Obama told a group of seniors in suburban Maryland last week that “what you need to know is that the guaranteed Medicare benefits that you’ve earned will not change, regardless of whether you receive them through Medicare or Medicare Advantage.” As the Wall Street Journal archly observed last week, “nothing about that sentence is true.”
