To close the gap, California needs to embrace pro-growth policies, especially in the critical energy and industrial sectors—but it’s exactly those policies that the progressives most strongly oppose. – City Journal

The United States once had the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world, but now the middle class is rapidly shrinking and government dependence is at an all-time high. So why is this happening?

“Four more years will bankrupt America.” Middle class incomes and net worth both declined under Obama’s three years of “recovery.” How’s that hopey changey thing working for you? Stewart Varney explains that the real issue is lower income and less wealth with Obama’s policies. He also thinks four more years of Obama’s policies will bankrupt America.

Obama talks jobs and his passion for the “middle class” out of one side of his mouth while out of the other side he crushes the energy industry and drives up energy costs which drives up the cost of everything. The poor and the middle class are hit hardest in a stagnant economy by higher electric bills. But remember Obama promised that under his plan “electricity rates would necessarily have to skyrocket.”

Obama is intent on cementing power based on the loyal support of the underclass and unionized labor. But to complete the task, he must deceive the middle classes for a bit longer by appearing to move to the center.

Instead of facing reality, our federal government, our state governments and our local governments just keep borrowing massive amounts of dollars to try to paper over all of our problems.

The Fed operated as a global pawnshop taking in practically anything the banks had for collateral.

The well-paying, predominantly white-collar jobs that once sustained many American communities are disappearing at an alarming rate, keeping the unemployment rate stubbornly high despite the end of the Great Recession.
