Uncle Sam did not raise the sword. Uncle Mohammed did, more years ago than anyone can count, and the sword has never been lowered since. As long as Mohammed is at the gates, Sam cannot put down the sword and spend all his time discussing monetary theory or social justice. Not if he expects to still be wearing his head by morning.
Panetta won’t have to deal with any of these questions. He left them for his successor and more particularly for the field commanders whose careers will depend on compliance.

Obama’s $5 TRILLION slush fund called ‘stimulus’ spending was supposed to rebound the economy. Instead we have fewer people with jobs, more people on food stamps and have enslaved our children and grandchildren to unprecedented debt.
We are at war and to deny it is naive, but to make sweeping changes in military operations plus use the military budget as an expendable pawn in a political chess match is like lobbing hand grenades into our own barracks! Enough is enough.
