Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) has spent weeks throwing political punches at the Obama administration’s six-month freeze on deepwater oil-and-gas drilling, alleging it will wreak havoc on the region’s already battered economy. Now, Jindal is battling the moratorium in the courtroom, too.

One would think that, when it comes to the Gulf spill, our top priorities would be as follows: plug the leak, mitigate and clean up the environmental damage, and provide help to those affected by it. But as President Obama indicated in his Oval Office address last Tuesday night, he sees things quite differently.

Momentum for passing such a bill has increased, Lieberman said, now that President Obama has made energy and climate legislation a priority in the wake of the Gulf oil spill disaster.

President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas. That’s a Harvard University study’s estimate of the per-gallon price of the president’s global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.

BP remains one of the most active major western oil companies engaged in joint-venture energy projects with the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum outside of Iran. In the last five years, BP has begun extracting around 4 million cubic meters per day of natural gas from a field in Britain’s North Sea in a 50-50 joint venture with Iran, worth $1 million a day at June 15, 2010 spot prices.

Despite overwhelming evidence that shows that CO2 caused global warming is a hoax, that cap and trade will ruin the economy, do nothing for the climate and enrich big businesses, liberal Democrats in the Senate are threatening to vote against energy legislation if it does not address global climate change. Is someone paying them?

We haven’t run out of safer and more easily accessible sources of oil. We’ve been run off them by environmentalists. They prefer to dream green instead. Obama is dreamer in chief: He wants to take us to this green future “even if we’re unsure exactly what that looks like. Even if we don’t yet precisely know how we’re going to get there.”

Why does this administration seem to be slowing the cleanup? Is it because they want more pictures of dead birds and dolphins to use in the push for the socialist cap and trade agenda?

Two vacations, a half dozen parties, and several rounds of golf later, Barack Obama finally addressed the nation on the BP oil spill this Tuesday.
He’s had more important things to do.
