Chairman Smith wrote to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano requesting a list of the criminal immigrants that were brought to the attention of ICE but not detained or processed for removal.

The Obama justice department has challenged state laws limiting benefits to illegals and allowing states to enforce the immigration laws. Alabama’s Attorney General has asked the DOJ to show how it has authority to require records on illegals attending Alabma schools. The new law passed in Alabama says the state does not need to provide school for illegals.

Durbin’s (D-IL) remarks about the Alabama and Arizona immigration laws. “The Alabama law is an attempt to further the American immigration legal system, whereas Sen. Durbin’s own Cook County (Chicago) — the largest jurisdiction in Illinois — recently passed an ordinance directing local law enforcement officials not to follow established legal procedure and not honor federal detainers placed on suspected illegal alien felons.”

Liberal politicians from the White House on down have vigorously advocated for illegal immigrant amnesty and lax border enforcement in a naked attempt to bolster prospective voter rolls.

Hilda Solis has made deals with Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Dominican Republic that “removes” the fear of deportation of illegals.

Sheriff Paul Babeu says what Obama is doing with his “defacto amnesty” is “un-American” and “almost like a dictator.” Arizona Sheriff Babeu says he will continue to enforce the law along with fellow Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Nearly every illegal has committed felonies in forged documents including drivers license and social security cards.

Hispanic voters are a key voter bloc as Mr. Obama seeks re-election next year, but many of them felt he broke his promise to them to work on legislation once he took office. Thursday’s move already was paying dividends as Hispanic advocacy groups praised the steps. – Washington Times

Durbin led off the first hearing of his pet ‘DREAM Act’ by asking all the illegals in his audience to stand up (you know, the ones ‘hiding in the shadows’) and then says he sees in them our future “doctors, our teachers…our senators, and maybe our president.” Uh, Senator, try reading Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution, which says: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.” So not even a LEGAL immigrant can EVER be President.
