Obama’s blocking of the Keystone pipeline is all about shoring up the leftist base at the expense of US economy, jobs and energy independence.

Oil and natural gas production on federal lands is down by more than 40 percent compared to 10 years ago. Under the Obama administration, 2010 had the lowest number of onshore leases issued since 1984. The Obama administration held only one offshore lease sale in 2011.

Obama’s answer was always no on the pipeline. Congress just forced him to say it before the election. We have a president who promised a plan that would ‘skyrocket’ electricity rates, an EPA that bases its illegal and tyrannical power grab on fraudulent data and suppressed any dissent, and an administration that is collectively working to ruin the oil, steel, coal, and cement industries.

Calling congress’ bluff on the Keystone XL pipeline Obama has said no because 60 days is not enough time for a new environmental impact study. The answer was always no. Congress just forced him to say it before the election.
