The IRS targeting of conservative groups for what they believe taught us the the Obama administration is the incarnation of Orwell’s thought police. Now we see it in his cabinet appointees.

In a Washington Post article about Obama’s increased second term efforts to destroy jobs and the economy with his anti-energy agenda his new Interior Secretary noted:

“In an agency-wide address to employees Aug. 1, Jewell took the unusual step of suggesting that no one working for her should challenge the idea that human activity is driving recent warming. “I hope there are no climate-change deniers in the Department of Interior,”

This continues the EPA philosophy of unquestioning loyalty to disproved theory because it fits a political agenda. Obama warned us he would make energy rates “skyrocket” and destroy the coal industry. Now with no next election to worry about the green scam can be rammed through at every cabinet level. In the same article WaPo noted:

“the center of the president’s climate plan lies with the EPA and its plan to finalize rules in the next two years to limit greenhouse-gas emissions from new and existing plants.”

Even Obama’s own EPA has said there will no measurable difference in global temperature from their drastic job killing, anti-energy regulations. Senator Jim Inhofe noted:

“So what’s the net effect of these regulations on global warming? EPA estimates that global mean temperature would be reduced by 0.006 to 0.0015 °C by 2100.” That’s an amount so small it can’t be measured by a ground-based thermometer. [emphasis added]

Of course reducing global warming is not the point. As my report shows, EPA’s proposals have negligible environmental benefits. Instead they are the vanguard of Obama anti-industrial policy agenda, which is pushing America’s manufacturing base overseas.”

Even the leftist Obama sycophant WaPo mentioned the looming disaster for other industries as well as the energy industry:

“Other industries that will be next in line for carbon restrictions, such as refiners and steel and cement producers, are concerned the administration’s power plant rules will set a dangerous precedent.”

Senator Inhofe warned of massive job losses:

“The respected economic consultancy, IHS-Global Insight, concluded that EPA’s boiler regulations threaten nearly 800,000 jobs. The United Steel Workers Union (USW), which represents hundreds of thousands of workers, “in the most heavily-impacted industries, among them pulp & paper, steel, and rubber,” has taken note. The USW believes the proposal “will be sufficient to imperil the operating status of many industrial plants.””

One of the grand green schemes of the Obama administration was the DOE loan program that made taxpayer guaranteed loans available to supposedly “green” companies. Veronique de Rugy, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, showed how the program ended up costing $6.7 million per job created:

“The 1705 program (under which Solyndra received funding) deserves particular attention. This program is a product of the economic stimulus bill of 2009. The data shows that:

26 projects were funded under the 1705, and guaranteed roughly $16 billion in total.

Some 2,378 permanent jobs were claimed to be created under the program. This works out to a potential cost per job of $6.7 million.

The recipient of the most 1705 loans is NRG Energy Inc.

NRG Energy Inc. received $3.8 billion (23.7 percent of the overall amount guaranteed under the 1705).

Four companies received 64 percent, or $10.3 billion, of the total amount guaranteed under the 1705 program.

So what does this mean? First, very few permanent green jobs were created under the 1705 loan program (or any of the other loan programs). To the extent that permanent “green jobs” were created, the $6.7 million cost per job is quite spectacular. This trend and number also dismisses this particular loan program as a job program.” [emphasis added]

In one instance one green company, Terra Gen, used hundreds of millions of taxpayer funded grants to create 50 jobs at a cost of $9 MILLION each.

More of your money is blowing in the wind. In “How Obama’s Energy Policy Will Kill Jobs“, an article in The American by Thomas A. Hemphill and Mark J. Perry, it was pointed out that wind power jobs have cost $14 MILLION each!

“according to these companies and state and local government economic development officials, those [wind farm] projects employ only about 300 workers, at a cost to taxpayers of more than $14 million per permanent job.” [emphasis added]

Unfortunately Sally Jewell is only going to help perpetuate the insanity.
